VAT-exclusive price
A VAT-exclusive or net price does not yet include VAT. To add VAT, multiply the net price by the VAT rate and add the tax amount.
VAT-inclusive price
To remove VAT from a gross price, do not simply subtract the VAT percentage from the gross amount. Divide the gross price by 1 + VAT rate expressed as a decimal.
Example
At 20% VAT, a net price of 100 becomes 120 gross. A gross price of 120 divided by 1.20 returns the 100 net price.
