Whole-month difference

Whole months count completed calendar months between the two dates. If the ending day is earlier in its month than the starting day, the final month is not counted as complete.

Approximate months

For planning, the calculator also shows total days divided by the average Gregorian month length. This decimal figure is an approximation rather than a count of completed calendar months.
